On Veterans Day 2017, in coordination with The City of Boston, Brighton hosted a Veteran’s Town Hall. The idea behind a Veterans Town Hall is to give vets of all wars a chance to address their community directly and without intermediaries.
The event was designed to be beneficial to veterans, but in the end, it helped bring the community together. Event such as these are happening around the country and are an opportunity to record oral histories of our nation’s wars, and it is a simple matter to put a tape recorder on the podium where people speak.
