Brighton Marine is excited to announce our newest partner in the veteran network community, Heroes with Hearing Loss. It is the 33rd provider to join our veteran network.
Did you know hearing loss is the number one service-related injury affecting veterans? While it has both physical and emotional impacts for many veterans, it is often overshadowed by other challenges like PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injuries.
Heroes With Hearing Loss is a platform of engagement designed to raise awareness of and initiate dialogue about shared hearing loss experiences among veterans and their families and friends. Moreover, it provides insightful solutions and lifestyle-focused ideas to help veterans manage the impact of hearing loss.
The Captioned Telephone, or CapTel, is easily obtainable for veterans with hearing loss through Heroes With Hearing Loss. It works like any other telephone with one important addition – it displays every word the caller says throughout the conversation, so users can listen to the caller and can also read the written captions in a display window. OEI, which manufactures and installs CapTel, conducts outreach on behalf of the Heroes With Hearing loss program, making it easy for any veteran with hearing loss to obtain a CapTel Phone.
Brighton Marine supports this organization’s commitment to help veterans and is proud to have them join the Greater Boston Coordinated Veterans Services network.
